Lotus Families awarded £90,000 by BBC Children in Need

We are delighted to announce that BBC Children in Need has awarded us a grant of £90,000 over three years. This grant will fund our School Readiness Programme and help make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people right here in East Sussex.

A Big Thank You to Denton Community Primary School Nursery who have chosen us for their Charity of the Year for 2017. All the proceeds from their fundraising events will go towards the work that we do at Lotus Families.

Domestic Abuse Service Funding Success

Lewes Skittles Tournament Fundraising Event

Here’s a picture of some our  fabulous trustees who were fundraising at the Lewes Skittles Tournament.  The event is run by the Rotary Club of Lewes and is held in Grange Gardens.  They raised £214 by organising a raffle.  Thank you very much to everyone who helped.

Our Fabulous Office Volunteer!

A HUGE thank you to to Sue our lovely, cheerful and endlessly patient volunteer, who helps in the office every week to help with the admin overload.  She is retired but has worked for Mind and Cafcass and in social housing.   We’re not quite sure what we would do without her.  

Funding Update

As many people already know, our funding from East Sussex County Council ceased at the end of March due to budget cuts.  We are endeavouring to maintain a reduced home visiting service during 2016 while we look for longer term funding elsewhere. Lotus Families wins another award

We were really pleased to receive an award for Health and Wellbeing Achievement at the Spark Awards 16.  The event was sponsored by East Sussex Fire and Rescue and took place on 10th May at the Winter Garden in Eastbourne. A massive thank you to all our fabulous volunteers.

Lotus Families Wins Unsung Hero Award

Lotus Families were delighted to receive an award on behalf of all the hard working volunteers,  in recognition of service to others in the community at the Unsung Hero Awards which were presented by Councillor Ruth O’Keefe MBE, Chair of Lewes District Council.

Bitter-Sweet day for Lotus Families

It was a bitter-sweet day for Lotus Families on 18th March when they celebrated the end of their  training course for volunteers with the Mayor of Battle Cllr Margaret Kiloh and Rother District Councillor Sally Ann Hart.
